Camellia Bird is a multimedia artist based in Columbia, Missouri. Her work explores the limits of memory and reality, probing the roles climate change and technology play in how we experience and understand our memories and conception of reality. Bird experiments with the notion of media as the message, utilizing a wide array of materials in her work, from video to audio to graphite, from textiles to ceramics, from installation to acrylics, with the goal of discovering the true form of each piece she attempts. For many years, Bird helped lead one of the most well-regarded international documentary film festivals in the world, the True/False Film Fest, contributing a strong voice to the festival’s aesthetic vision. Bird holds a BA in Fine Arts from Indiana University.
